Art

Posted by Un-Holy - June 2nd, 2013

This was a rant but I decided to delete it since it got me nowhere and I learned a couple of things but I guess im just annoyed that people don't love my work as much as I do and it gets to me sometimes but hey if you like it you like, just don't hate on other people's artwork without a reason though.

Hey , after reading this i felt like sharing some things with you. They propably gonna sound harsh but thats how it is. You will either be smart and consider this or be stupid and discard it. Have in mind however that im spending my own time here to write this so thats gotta count for something.. Do not ask people to pay attention to you. Thats not asked bro , thats won. People wont think ur cool cause ur pleading them. For the internet you are just another faceless user. If you wanna be more , you must earn it. It takes time to master anything my friend , especially art. I myself find it absurd when someone says "im an artist." This is a title given , not something you self-proclaim. I understand that you feel frustrated , that you feel like you are spenting loads for nothing. Thats not true. With every piece you make , with every line u draw u become better. You learn new stuff. Its a long way up my friend and if u rly wanna be an artist u gotta climb it. As you progress with your art people will start getting attracted , as your skills mature you will earn the audience u crave for. But..if u wanna rly evolve , ur goal must be your art , not to be popular. Dont draw for others , draw for urself , have fun! With every opportunity u have , try and learn new stuff! See speedpainting videos and tutorials , examine the objects around you , try new things , see how anatomy works! Make observation a habbit. How does your arm work? You see a cool artwork , try and see what makes it cool. And last but not least , never EVER stop practicing and drawing. I understand that its frustrating. I occasionally feel disapointed when a piece of mine does not get the exposure i hoped for but i never give up. I know that in time , as i produce more work and better quality , my labours will become justified. But in the end , if you draw only to get praised , you will end up being an audience tool. Your art will be souless. People like ponnies , ull draw ponnies , people like anime ull draw anime. If you wanna be a tool fine by me but from what iv seen in your gallery , you got imagination , work on that , nurture it and practice it. Be patient and never give up dude. Dont be yet another nobody who just quit with his tail between his legs. If you really wanna do it , you can.

Thanks for giving me your opinion on the matter, and I agree with you. Art really isn't something we do to satisfy others (unless its architecture) but to satisfy ourselves and enjoy it. This was really just a personal thing that got to me. But I never did my work to get publicity or become famous, just to see people enjoy my work and find a multitude of things in it. I am proud of my artwork and really shouldn't let other people get me down as long as I enjoy what I do. So I did read everything you typed down and again I appreciate it. But to be honest I might continue doing art and I might not since all of the work I post up has already done previously for art classes. So thank you for your honest opinion and good luck to you as all.

I agree with Kkylimos. I think you should stick of what you enjoy in your art. as long as you love your art and you enjoy doing it then keep on going. keep doing of what you love. I wish i can draw as good as you i cannot even find a decent program for my art.

It's not about the program its all about doing it on your on time, even if you just have a pencil and paper. But thanks for the words of encouragement.
